Karen Trueman is Director of Talent and Brand Development with Legend Management Group. Karen began her career with Legend Management Group in 2005 as the Property Manager at The Elms at Oakton and has over 20 years of experience in the property management industry. She has held various positions in the industry, some of which include Leasing Professional, Resident Services Coordinator, Assistant Manager, Trainer and Property Manager. Karen has experience working with both high-rise and garden-style apartment communities in Maryland, Virginia and North Carolina, and loves working onsite, assisting both current and future residents.
Karen has earned her ARM certification and her CPM certification through IREM and stays involved with many industry organizations including PMA, IREM and NVAA. She feels strongly about learning all that you can and putting it into action at the community. Under Karen’s leadership, several of Legend’s communities have won awards including PACE Community of the Year, PACE Judge’s Choice and PMA Maintenance Team of the Year. Karen is passionate about creating a sense of community while successfully overseeing the physical and financial aspects of her communities and providing support for the onsite teams. She believes in giving back to the community and getting everyone from the staff to the residents involved. Through Karen’s guidance, Legend Management Group has developed relationships with several organizations including the Ronald McDonald House, Food for Others and Toys for Tots, as well as several schools and other local charities.
